What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device to remember information — for example your language settings or your consent choices. Similar technologies (local storage, pixel tags) are covered by the same rules under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Which cookies do we use?
1. Strictly necessary cookies (always on)
These are needed for the site to work. No consent is required for them under PECR.
- cookie_consent — stores your cookie choices. Expires after 12 months.
- wp_session — technical WordPress session. Expires when the browser is closed.
2. Analytics cookies (consent required)
We use Google Analytics to keep anonymised statistics on how the site is used. The tool is configured so that IP addresses are anonymised immediately.
- _ga, _gid, _gat — Google Analytics. Expire after 2 years / 24 hours / 1 minute.
3. Advertising cookies (consent required)
For ads via Google AdSense and partners. These cookies are only set if you accept personalised ads.
- __gads, __gpi, IDE, NID — Google's ad network. Expire after 13 months or sooner.
How do you manage your consent?
On your first visit the cookie banner gives you a choice: accept only the necessary cookies, or accept all. You can change your choice at any time by withdrawing or giving consent again on this site.
You can also manage cookies manually in your browser settings — in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge you will find this under "Privacy and security".
Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by external providers (Google). We do not have full control over these. You can find more information in their own privacy policies:
Changes
We may update this cookie policy if we change our setup or if the law changes. The latest version is always on this page.
