Why does UK Sheets exist?
Most Excel templates online are built for the US market: dates in MM/DD/YYYY, amounts in dollars, sales tax instead of VAT, and columns that do not match anything a UK business actually needs.
So you end up spending half an afternoon rebuilding it anyway.
UK Sheets does the opposite: every template is built from the start for UK conditions — amounts in pounds, 20% VAT, fields for VAT and company details, UK date formats and references to the rules that actually apply here. Download, open and get going.
How we work
UK from the first cell
Dates in DD/MM/YYYY, amounts in pounds, 20% VAT and room for company details. Bookkeeping templates keep an eye on HMRC and VAT returns; HR templates on UK working-time and holiday rules.
Tested before it goes live
Every file is opened and checked before we publish it: do the formulas work, do the totals add up, does it look right when printed? We would rather have fewer templates that work than a hundred half-finished ones.
Free, no catch
No small print. The file you download is the whole file — with every tab, formula and function. Ads on the site pay the bill, not your contact details.
Users decide what comes next
When several people ask for the same kind of template, it moves to the top of the list. The best ideas come from people facing a real problem.
Who uses the templates?
Our templates are downloaded by everyone from sole traders to clubs and teams in larger companies. Typically:
- Sole traders and freelancers — invoices, mileage logs, VAT overviews and budgets, without having to buy accounting software from day one
- Small businesses — staff rotas, stock control, cash flow forecasts and timesheets, ready to share with your accountant
- Clubs and volunteers — membership lists, subscription tracking, event budgets and expense summaries
- Individuals — household budgets, savings goals, mortgage overviews and planning everything from a wedding to a house move
What they all have in common: they would rather not spend an evening setting up a spreadsheet. We have done it for them.
Missing a template?
Tell us what you are missing, or report an error in a file. Specific requests from users are the first thing we look at when planning new templates.
